Bangalore-specific notes

The Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act is administered by the Karnataka Labour Department and registrations run via the e-Karmika portal (ekarmika.karnataka.gov.in). Bangalore Urban circle processes the majority of city applications. GST is filed on the central portal (gst.gov.in) but the local CGST / Karnataka SGST jurisdictional office is assigned automatically based on PIN code. Udyam is fully online.

Do I need GST if I'm just starting?

Not necessarily. For services the GST threshold is ₹20 lakh annual turnover; for goods it is ₹40 lakh. If you are below the threshold and not doing inter-state B2B, you can defer. Sevantay gives you a specific recommendation in writing.

Shop Act or Udyam — which should I get first?

Shop Act is mandatory the moment you have a commercial premises in Bangalore. Udyam is optional but free — always recommended because it unlocks MSME benefits. Both are included in this bundle.

Can I register a company (Pvt Ltd / LLP) through this bundle?

This bundle covers proprietorship-friendly registrations. For Pvt Ltd / LLP / OPC incorporation, we run a separate workflow (DSC, DIN, name reservation, incorporation) — we are happy to quote for that.

Do I need a commercial address, or can I use my home?
